The Job Application

Job Application

I had a very vivid dream in which I went to an employer financial agency to apply for a job as a broker: insurance agent, trader. I went into an old building in the early 20th century style, It was in the industrial area. Once in the door, I walked past chairs set around tables in a spacious, high ceilinged room, and went to a large booth in the opposite corner of the room. It was elevated several feet above the floor, and clerks amidst piles of forms were handing out job applications on brown, commercial paper. I requested the job application I sought: insurance, finance, trader, broker with the hope of beginning an account and trading on it myself successfully, then helping others do this kind of job.

The man in the business shirt and tie gave me four, five, or six forms quickly, and I turned to go down a small flight of stairs to another table set with chairs about it on the opposite corner of the inner room. And I put down the forms for a minute – and noticed a bathroom across the hall in the adjacent corner, both men's and women's. I went to the men's room on the right for a minute, and returned to the table. There was some commotion near the platform, but I didn't see anyone else. I went to fill out my forms and gather them together to either take home and mail back to the office, or complete on the spot. But the forms were gone! Someone had mysteriously taken them from the table...

I went back to the platform witth the clerks above and behind the front barrier to ask for the missing forms, and the clerk said he had given me the last ones! He turned back to his desk, and shuffled around a bit. A pretty girl with dark, short cut hair about her eyes returned to the front desk, and smilled curtly, but didn't say anything. I turned to my right, picked up the only sheet of paper left, and headed back to the door up the stairs, looking for the exit dejectedly... when I awoke because of a short bladder! I went to the bathroom, and thought 'Whew!' That was a nightmare job application!
