At the October 1 Alameda Writers Group Meeting in
Glendale, Denise Hamilton presents "From Fact To
Fiction, a Best-selling Writer's Journey From Rough

In the midst of the Woodstock Film Festival, BMI
holds their Music Showcase on October 1, all taking
place in Woodstock. At a Los Angeles "POWER UP Movie
Making Seminar" sponsored by the Hollywood Reporter
from October 1-2, you can learn how to sell, set up,
and produce films. The BMI Round Table agenda for
this month examines performing rights, BMI's
history, how the Nashville music industry operates,
and tips to help you become the songwriter you want
to be, when it meets October 3 in the Nashville
office. The Second Annual Hatch Audiovisual Arts
Festival from October 4-9 in Bozeman, presents film
premieres, panels, workshops and artist showcases in
all disciplines. GARTAL - An Armenian Literary
Reading Series, features the works of poet and

book artist Emily Artinian; solo performer; Arpie
Dadoyan; and a musical performance featuring singer

October 6-8 in the mountains of Durango.
T.J. Martell Foundation, which raises funds for
cancer and AIDS research, honors Katie Couric, Matt
Lauer and Al Roker, and featuring performances by
Norah Jones and Antigone Rising for an October 7
engagement in New York. The Society of Singers
honors Elton John with cocktails, dinner, and show
for its 14th Annual Ella Awards, October 10 in
Beverly Hills. For a "Breaking Bands and Placing
Music in Film, TV and Games" Panel, guest speakers
include Julia Michels, Jonathan Palmer, Dominic
Griffin, Elena Byington, over dinner and cocktails
on October 11 in Studio City. This year's MIFED
International Film and Multimedia Market happens at
Fiera Milano - Piazzale Giulio Cesare, in Milan,
October 13-17. The runway debut of six womenswear,
one menswear and one swimwear designer on the
catwalk, and four accessory designers will be
captured in Gen Art LAs 8th Annual Fresh Faces in
Fashion Show - with pre-reception and after-party -
October 14 in Santa Monica. Established indie
filmmakers share their secrets and past mistakes at
the FIND Filmmaker Forum: Sell Your Film Without
Getting Screwed, happening October 15 in Los
Angeles. A CLA Music Business Seminar Sponsored By
ASCAP, is a daylong seminar aimed to educate
emerging songwriters and entertainment attorneys
about relevant legal issues affecting artists and
entertainers, happening on the USC campus in Los
Angeles. Writers Guild of America West presents a
multi-panel seminar on diversity in the
entertainment industry titled "The Write Influence:
Valuing Diversity" on October 15 in Los Angeles.
Competition and festivity for European television,
radio and Internet productions is what you will find
at Prix Europa in Berlin, opening October 15-22.
Author and actress Marguerite Ashton, whose

International Animation Festival has changed its
focus to the art of animation, and presents
seminars, debates, retrospectives and specially-curated
film programmes when it opens for a three day run on
October 20 in Norwich. State of the industry review
of legal and business aspects of music, motion
pictures and digital entertainment will be reviewed
in the 15th Annual Entertainment Institute, October
21 & 22 in Austin. International Gospel Music Hall
of Fame Induction Ceremony with inductees Luther
Barnes, The Sunset Jubilaires, Aretha Franklin and
others, happens on October 22 in Detroit. The
gathering for the motion picture industry in the
United States, Latin America and the Caribbean,
ShowEast 2005 Convention, includes "Casino Night"
this year as one of its added networking features,
opening October 24-27 in Orlando.
